I can't get photos off the website. But they have lovely understated stuff. And I was happy to realise that they aren't all expensive. They have a gorgeous silver collection which includes the infinity pendant and the luna pendants and of course their famous rings which i must say beats Tiffanys hands down just because it's not over bought or over advertised. And you can bet that you will seldom run into someone else with the same item.

Something for everyone. For the boys, there's a smart collection of cufflinks. Not overly flashy.

Coach seems to have undergone a revival with it's new bags.

I'm a fan of big roomy bags where u can stuff everything in like a book, documents, makeup pouch, purse, ipod and perhaps even leave space for a hair dryer. (i do actually know someone that carry's a hairdryer with her almost everywhere she goes)

So the new coach bags fit the bill to a T. They're roomy and compartmentalized ie functional AND they're really chic!

I've been wanting to blog about this for so long. The fusion of fashion and installation art.

Berlin artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingmar Dragset are installation artists of a different kind. Prada Marfa is currently installed along Highway 90 in the desert just outside Marfa, Texas. Art Review, October 2005 calls this a "project about using existing icons and succintly juxstaposing them to form a seductively uncomfortable personality clash."

The sculpture/installation is looks eerily like a prada store, with minimalist white stucco walls and a window display housing Prada's hangbags and shoes (handpicked by Muccio Prada herself) from the fall collection. But there is no working door.

Texas' most famous outdoor sculpture is probably the weather-worn, graffiti-covered "Cadillac Ranch" outside of Amarillo. Prada Marfa may never outlast those bodies by Fisher, but it's already become the most talked about sculpture of the 21st Century - despite the puny traffic count of highway 90.

One of my highlights of walking down Regent Street from Picadilly circus was the Massimo Dutti store display. Spring, Summer or Winter, their store displays were impeccable. The first couple of times i gaped and lingered outside. Eventually the pull of the 3 story store was irresistable.

I personally love the spanish equivalent of high street brands, zara, mango, pull & bear, Bershka. But often neglected is Massimo Dutti. True the prices there are a little bit steeper, but their clothes are well cut and extremely classy. Instead of frocks that last a season or two, their designs are definitely timeless. Massimo Dutti presents a complete variety of lines, ranging from the more urban and sophisticated to the more sporty. Basic and modern styles made with latest generation fabrics, the highest of quality and innovative mixes results in an impeccable image with the guarantee of maximum comfort.

Now their Regent Street store in London even does tailoring for men. Saville Row cuts with some european sass for 300-400 quid.

Something to be proud of, not only did it host established and up&coming local designers, it started off with a bang with British model Lily Cole for Ferrangamo and included a host of renown names such as JPG, Diane von Furstenberg (who's new boutique in SG is due to open soon), Missoni, etc.

I only got to catch The Link's Alldressedup show last Monday night. That was exciting! The french cafe/lounge music with the pretty yet practical Morrocan/Japanese-inspired spring summer frocks, it certainly exceeded expectations. Something worth checking out. Vietnam's premier silk boutique it may be, this boutique highlights the great disparity between the mass produced street ware and elegant craftwork. Some pieces at this store still seem a bit overpriced but a discerning eye will pick out one of kind pieces. Afterall, the Princess of Thailand shops here.

When KarlLagerfeld did his collection for H&M last year, though it would have been cool to own a bit of Lagerfeld's work, I thought most of his designs were unwearable and unflattering. In the January sales in London, rails of his puffy black frocks remained untouched.

Stella McCartney was a whole different story. After getting so much flak and accusations of using her father's name and her model friends to launch her career, she has really shown talent. I'm practical, I have no patience for unwearable designer wear and for overpriced clothes which I could never afford unless I inherit an middle eastern oil fund miraculously.

So it was with great anticipation that I awaited November 9th. Friend of mine in UK offered to get me Stella's collection for H&M once it was launched. Afterall, they were a fraction of the price it would be for her normal range.

But then I received a text saying 'Stella's collection sold out within 20 minutes at Oxford Street store'.

My hopes were dashed and a search on ebay displayed the wonders of fashion profiteering. In San Francisco people queued from 4am at least.

Anyway good news, new stock! In selected H&M stores November 25th.

In order to re-awaken a desperately needed aids/HIV awareness, the Beauty Without Irony Foundation – headed by Ninette Murk, who also was creative director of Designers do Denim in 2001 – is launching DESIGNERS AGAINST AIDS – a project/fashion line aimed to get AIDS back into the media. DAA is T-shirt/jersey based fashion line sold in fashion, concept and music shops. The items are designed by famous and emerging fashion designers, DJ’s, musicians, photographers, sports celebs, street artists...

The launch collection T shirts (sponsored by Umbro) has been created by fashion designers Bernhard Willhelm, Marina Yee (one of the original Antwerp Six), Spanish fashion design duo Spastor, British goalkeeper David James, photographer Kimiko Yoshida, German music & lifestyle magazine Spex and the music celebs: Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Robert Smith of The Cure and Faithless.

And for something a little closer to home, on Saturday, Nick & I went shopping. OK, more like i dragged him kicking and screaming (albeit silently) to go shopping with me since I haven't shopped for like eons and online shopping ain't enough. We discovered this really really cool shop of a local designer, Beno, at Heeren. It's called Benno LaMode. You must must check it out.

I'll try not to rave too much, but he sure has some gorgeous stuff. I can't wait for the christmas collection and the rest of spring summer 06 to come out. You can check out his photo albums of the snapshots of his collection from singapore fashion week. Just don't be like me and pick that off-shoulder midnight blue top because he gave me an apologetic look and said ' oh, umm, that's actually my haute couture range.. it's S$800+ because the fabric's from Christian Lacroix.' Good for anyone of you who's thinking of getting married i guess. Meanwhile, I can only afford pret a porter.
